1 Corinthians 13:2
2 "And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing."
I heard a person say once that people don’t care what you know until they know that you care. In 1998 a hurricane devastated the country of Honduras in Central America, killing over twenty six thousand people. We had a missions trip scheduled at the time but could not travel into the country yet.
We finally got to go ten days later and, by the time we left, several people gave us medical equipment and supplies that filled a forty-foot container. Praise God!
Mauricio took us to several churches to help us distribute the stuff. My Spanish was very limited so I didn’t know what he was saying too them. He was introducing us as the people who loved them. When I found out I felt very humbled. My love increased for Honduras as we travel from town to town.
1 Corinthians 13:3
3 "And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing."
Father, I need Your love to flow from Your heart, through me, and into Your people. I pray that they will always know that You are the source of my love for them. In Jesus's name, Amen.
1 Corinthians 13:4-5
4 "Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 "Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;"
Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
