I was talking to a friend yesterday and we got into a discussion on the word "Gifts of Healing." She looked it up in several translations an most of them use the word gifts in a plural form but healing was singular. So I looked up what Kenneth E. Hagin had to say about it.
Excerpt from "The Holy Spirit and His Gifts Study Course" by Kenneth E. Hagin:
1 CORINTHIANS 12:9,28,30 (KJV)
9 "To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the GIFTS OF HEALING by the same Spirit. . . .
28 "And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then GIFTS OF HEALINGS, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. . . .
30 "Have all the GIFTS OF HEALING? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?”
“Notice in verse 28, both the words “gifts” and “healings” are plural, and this is the way it should be listed in every one of the verses where this gift is mentioned...
"Notice that this is the only one of the spiritual gifts listed in First Corinthians 12 that is in the plural — gifts of healings...
"In the ministry of Jesus, every manner of sickness and every manner of disease was healed (Matt. 9:35). That’s because Jesus had the Spirit without measure and all the gifts of healings were in manifestation in His life and ministry.”
My heart has always wanted to see the sick healed, and I have seen God heal many people over the last forty years of my life. The Bible says that believers shall lay their hands on the sick and they shall recover (Mark 16:17-18).
Father, it says in Your Word that if we would follow and do what You say that You would heal all manner of sicknesses. In Jesus's name, Amen and Amen.
Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
