Hebrews 3:13 (NASB)
13 "But encourage one another every day, as long as it is still called “today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin."
I had the privilege of going to the prison tonight with four other ministers and good friends of mine. Our conversation in the van was encouraging me for the night ahead. This would be the first time that I went to this prison since my brother's passing, and I was a little apprehensive on what to expect.
The men were glad to see us, and you could sense the Spirit of God was there waiting for us. As we were setting up the stage I heard some one say that the man in the back of the room just got word that his daughter had passed away today. I had o idea what I was going to say to him, but I just felt like I needed to go stand next to him and try to be an encouragement to him.
He spent the next ten minutes speaking into my life on the loss of my brother, and the one that got the most encouragement was me. The service was powerful and I am so glad that I was able to go there. One man came to me with tears in his eyes as he expressed his heart and I was encouraged to see these men out of the hurts in there lives giving me encouragement.
So at the end of this day, Father, I pray that all of their efforts would not got un noticed by Your great love and compassion for these wonderful brothers in the faith. I pray also for all my friends that are reading this devotion for them to be be encouraged in Jesus's name, Amen.
Blessings on the journey, and remember the best is yet to come.
